About Fondation Leducq : Organizational Structure

The Fondation Leducq was officially recognized (reconnue d'intérêt public) as a foundation by the government of France on November 27, 1996.

Governance of the foundation is organized according to French law.  A nine-member Board of Directors (Conseil d’Administration), led by the President of the Foundation, is responsible for overall administration and oversight.  A representative of the French Interior Ministry participates in the Board's activities.

IThe strategic development of the foundation is guided by a fourteen-member Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), composed of internationally recognized experts in cardiology, cardiac surgery, and neurovascular medicine from Europe and North America.  The SAC is responsible for evaluating the scientific merit of all funding requests made to the foundation, and for monitoring the progress of those research programs ultimately selected for funding.

The day to day operations of the foundation are managed at the Paris Office.
