  Grant Recipients 2008-2009
 
The Transatlantic Networks of Excellence Program grant recipients for 2008-2009 are listed below.  Each research network will receive $6,000,000 over five years to support a collaborative research program involving European and North American investigators.  Research programs are listed by project title and principal coordinators.  For more information, please click on the project title.
  1. Redox and nitrosative regulation of cardiac remodeling:  novel therapeutic approaches for heart failure.  David KASS (Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore) and Ajay SHAH (King's College, London)

  2. Leducq Transatlantic Network on therapeutic arteriogenesis and metabolism modulation.  Michael SIMONS (Yale University, New Haven) and Peter CARMELIET (University of Leuven)
     
  3. Structural alterations in the myocardium and the substrate for cardiac fibrillation.  Jose JALIFE (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor) and Stéphane HATEM (Université Pierre Marie Curie, Paris)

  4. Multi-scale modeling of single ventricle hearts for clinical decision support.  Tain-Yen HSIA (Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London) and Richard FIGLIOLA (Clemson University)
